Westfield Centro – Europe’s largest shopping and entertainment centre (Oberhausen, Germany)      

Westfield Centro, known as Centro Oberhausen until 31 August 2021, is Europe’s largest shopping and entertainment centre. It is also the heart of the new centre of Oberhausen, one of Germany’s major industrial and cultural cities and often referred to as the cradle of the Ruhr industry.

Of its total area, 125,000 square metres is retail space, whilst over 830,000 square metres is operational space. Westfield Centro houses around 150 retail outlets and offers a total of 14,000 parking spaces. (Over 11,000 spaces in car parks P3 to P8 are free of charge. Westfield Club members, meanwhile, can reserve a parking space without leaving home by paying a €3 booking fee for parking spaces 1 and 2.) Thanks to the colour-coded lighting system, vacant spaces can be spotted immediately; meanwhile, areas specifically allocated for disabled visitors, female drivers and families with children provide significant convenience when parking.

Inside the building, there is a large ‘children’s entertainment and care centre’ called CENTER KIDS. It is the perfect place where your children can be safe and have fun whilst you take care of your errands. You can even celebrate your children’s special occasions at CENTER KIDS if you wish.

Westfield Centro always prioritises the comfort of its visitors. The newly introduced “Kiddy Cars für Kinder” service ensures your little ones have fun whilst offering you a relaxed and comfortable shopping experience. For a reasonable fee, you can enjoy a 4-hour time slot during which your children can both have fun and rest, whilst you shop at your leisure. Westfield Club members can take advantage of this offer by paying half price.

Throughout Westfield Centro, there are numerous areas where you can relax after shopping. There are also sockets available where you can charge your phones and other electronic devices. As the relaxation areas feature greenery, you’ll feel completely at ease. This means you can continue your shopping from where you left off, feeling refreshed.

The Westfield Centro building is structurally well-planned, offering a spacious and airy environment. Digital signage detailing the building layout is available at several points, making it easy to find the shop you’re looking for.

There is a spacious area within the venue where you can satisfy your dining and relaxation needs. Coca-Cola-Oase, which ranks second in Europe in terms of floor space, offers visitors a variety of delicious dishes to suit every palate. Coca-Cola-Oase features various independent restaurants and over 1,000 seats. Thanks to the renovation of the dining area, you’ll feel more at peace amidst the greenery and won’t want to leave.
